Lanthanide hydrogels with tunable circularly polarized luminescence (CPL) via supramolecular chirality induction

Supramolecular chirality induction” from cholate assembly, along with non-covalent sensitization of various lanthanide emission, provides an efficient induction of tunable CPL in lanthanide-based soft materials.

Metallopolymer-based block copolymers for perfluorinated substances (PFAS) and ion removal

Porous metallopolymer membranes are prepared via the self-assembly and non-solvent-induced phase separation (SNIPS) process. These membranes efficiently remove (transition)metal ions and perfluorinated organic substances from the water phase.

n-Type redox-tuneable conducting polymer optical nanoantennas

We show that the n-type conducting polymer PBFDO can be optically metallic for wavelengths above around 695 nm after post-treatment, and that nanostructures of the material can act as optical nanoantennas that are dynamically switchable.

We present an intramolecular charge transfer state in fluoranthene derivatives, established using detailed spectroscopic techniques. The present work paves an avenue toward the design of fluoranthene-based chromophores for applications in optoelectronics.

This special collection marks 10 years of our Emerging Investigators, an annual collection launched in 2014 showcasing high quality research being carried out by international researchers in the early stages of their independent careers.
