Upconversion nanohybrids for NIR-induced photorepair of DNA etheno adducts†
Abstract
Here, we report NIR-triggered photorepair of DNA damages via photosensitization by using well-known upconversion nanohybrids consisting of ytterbium and erbium co-doped core–shell upconversion nanoparticles (UCs) and Rose Bengal (UC@RB). Specifically, two purine-derived etheno adducts (1,N6-etheno-2′-deoxyadenosine (εdA) and 1,N2-etheno-2′-deoxyguanosine (εdG)) have been used as proof of concept.
