Adsorption of krypton and nitric oxide on nickel and iron
Abstract
The sintering of evaporated films of nickel at –78° and iron at 25° has been measured by adsorption of krypton at –197°. Adsorption of nitric oxide at –78° decreases the subsequent adsorption of krypton, and is fast at low coverage and slow at high coverage; the mechanism of the adsorption of nitric oxide is discussed. Krypton monolayer volumes determined by the Kaganer method are compared with the B.E.T. values.
