Reactions of cobalt(III) complexes. Part III. The racemization of cis-hydroxoaquobisethylenediaminecobalt(III) salts

Abstract

The large rotational strength of the visible absorption band of cis-hydroxoaquobisethylenediaminecobalt(III) is attributed to a hydrogen-bonded complex with hydroxyl ion. This species is implicated in the very rapid isomerization and water exchanges of the complex.
