Irradiation of 2,2,4,4-tetramethyl-7-oxabicyclo-[4,1,0]heptan-3-one does not lead to photodecarbonyl-ation, but rather photoisomerization occurs to give 2,2-dimethyl-4-(2-methylpropenyl)butanolide and 2,2,6-tri-methyl-4-oxohept-5-enal.
