Orientation of pyridine in NbS2(C5H5N)0·5. A neutron diffraction study

Abstract

Single-crystal studies on NbS2(C5H5N)0.5 and NbS2(C5D5N)0.5 by neutron diffraction established a position of the pyridine ring with the aromatic plane perpendicular to the metal sulphide layers and the nitrogen atom located midway between adjoining layered units.
