Axial ligand substitution in iron(II) phthalocyanine adducts: replacement of tri-n-butyl phosphite by tri-n-butylphosphine
Abstract
Iron(II) phthalocyanine, [Fe(pc)], reacts with tri-n-butyl phosphite and tri-n-butylphosphine to form low-spin bis adducts, [Fe(pc)(PR3)2]. Replacement of P(OBu)3 by PBu3 occurs rapidly and follows a strictly dissociative mechanism.
