Difluoromethanimine, F2C[double bond, length half m-dash]NH, a novel unstable molecule

Abstract

Difluoromethanimine, F2C[double bond, length half m-dash]NH, which is stable only below ∼260 K has been synthesized by the reaction of F3CNH2 with triethylamine and characterized by 19F n.m.r. and i.r. spectroscopy, from which all vibrational fundamentals and rotational constants were determined.
