The 1-methylene-4-phenylcyclohexadiene triosmium complex [Os3(CO)9(µ3-η2:η2:η2-H2C![[double bond, length half m-dash]](https://www.rsc.org/images/entities/char_e006.gif)
C6H5Ph)] has been prepared from the reaction of [Os3(CO)9(µ3-η2:η1:η2-C6H5Ph)], which contains a side-on co-ordinated carbene group, with the Wittig reagent H2CPPh3; the crystal and molecular structure of the product has been determined by an X-ray diffraction study.
