Conjugate addition of unmodified aldehydes: recycle of heterogeneous amine catalyst and ionic liquid

Abstract

Unmodified aldehydes add to vinylketones in 1,4-manner in ionic liquid, [bmim]PF6, in the presence of a catalytic amount of propylamine grafted on silica. The ionic liquid involving the catalyst has been recycled intact without loss of efficiency.
