Modified templates for directing the topology of wires: preparation of wires with structured tips
Abstract
Techniques are presented for modifying pore topologies in alumina templates. A multistep process is used to alter the shape of the pore by introducing oxidized metal components along a section of the pore wall. The modified templates can then be used to fabricate wires with directed shapes. Wires with structured tips, grown electrochemically, illustrate the utility of this approach.
