Phthalocyanine-modulated isomerization behaviour of an azo-based photoswitch

Abstract

A photoswitchable azobenzenephthalocyanine–azobenzene triad has been synthesized and its electrochemical properties determined. Energy transfer among the subunits allows for modification of the EZ ratio by selective excitation of the phthalocyanine moiety.
