Abstract

Reaction of excess uranyl nitrate with DOTA (H4L) under hydrothermal conditions gave the complex [(UO2)2(H2L)(C2O4)(H2O)2]·6 H2O (1), in which the oxalato ligand was generated in situ. Each H2L2− ligand is bound to four uranyl groups, further oxalato-bridging giving rise to corrugated layers. This result shows the interest of DOTA as a square assembler.
