Abstract
The vinylidene complex trans-[RhCl(C

CCPh2OSiMe3)(PiPr3)2] (5), prepared from [RhCl(PiPr3)2]2 (1) and HC
CC
CCPh2OSiMe3 (2), is in equilibrium with the pentatetraenediyl isomer trans-[RhCl(
C
C
C
CHCPh2OSiMe3)(PiPr3)2] (6) in
CC
CCPh2OSiMe3)(PiPr3)2(py)] (7) with
C
CHC(O)CH
CPh2)(PiPr3)2] (9), which was also obtained from the metallacumulene trans-[RhCl(
C
C
C
C
CPh2)(PiPr3)2] (8) under analogous conditions.
