Coordination chemistry of trimethylsilylphosphaalkyne: a phosphaalkyne bearing a reactive substituent†
Abstract
Trimethylsilylphosphaalkyne binds readily to a variety of transition metals. Binding can take place using either the end-on or side-on mode and to either mononuclear or multinuclear metal complexes. The synthesis, structure and characterisation of eight such complexes, [Cp2Zr(PMe3)(Me3SiCP)], [(C6F5)2FB(C6F4)PCSiMe3)ZrCp2(PMe3)], [(C6F5)2XB(C6F4)(ZrCp2)2P2(CSiMe3)2] (X = F/H), [(Me3Si–CP)2Mo(dppe)2], [CpMo(CO)2PC(SiMe3)Mo(CO)2Cp], [(Ph3P)2Pt(Me3SiCP)], [{(dppe)Pd}2(Me3SiCP)] and [Pd5(PPh3)5(Me3SiCP)3] are described together with attempts to desilylate some of these complexes.
