Ordered mesoporous NiCoMnO4: synthesis and application in energy storage and catalytic decomposition of N2O†
Abstract
Ordered nanocrystalline mesoporous NiCoMnO4 samples were prepared using mesoporous silica (KIT-6) as a hard template, and characterized by Powder X-Ray Diffraction (PXRD), Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM), Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy (EDX), and N2 adsorption–desorption. The average crystal sizes and textural properties of mesoporous NiCoMnO4 could be tuned by varying the annealing temperature (200–800 °C) during the synthesis. The applications as an electrochemical capacitor and in catalytic decomposition of N2O were demonstrated. Mesoporous LiNi1/3Co1/3Mn1/3O2 was further prepared by reacting mesoporous NiCoMnO4 with LiOH at 400 °C, and its application as a cathode material for Li-ion batteries was demonstrated.
