Sulfide bornite thermoelectric material: a natural mineral with ultralow thermal conductivity†
Abstract
We report a new type of thermoelectric material, sulfide bornite (Cu5FeS4), which is a widespread natural mineral that is composed of non-toxic and earth-abundant elements. Bornite has ultralow thermal conductivity, tuneable electrical transport properties, and enhanced stability under large electric currents. It shows great potential as a new economical and eco-friendly thermoelectric material.
