Co-crystal engineering: a novel method to obtain one-dimensional (1D) carbon nanocrystals of corannulene–fullerene by a solution process†
Abstract
In this study, 1D nanocrystals composed of C60 and corannulene were synthesized efficiently through cocrystallization by a solution process. These 1D nanocrystals display high electron transport characteristics of up to 0.11 cm2 V−1 s−1 and good photoresponse of 0.09 A W−1, indicating their potential applications in optoelectronics. The results suggest that co-crystal engineering provides a novel strategy for the rational design of new carbon-based crystalline nanomaterials.
