Nano-micellar Zn(Cys)2 complex mimics the chloroperoxidase active site†
Abstract
A micellar environment encapsulates a Zn(Cys)2 complex and forms a metallo-micelle, which behaves as a chlorinating catalyst at pH 3. Hydrophobic micro-environment of the metallo-micelle provides suitable conditions for the chlorination of aromatic substrates.
