Design of novolac resin-based network polymers for adsorptive removal of azo dye molecules†
Abstract
Novolac resin based two polymer networks were synthesized from novolac-based epoxy resins and low molecular weight amines such as ethylenediamine and diethylenetriamine. The designed polymer networks were characterized by a variety of methods including FTIR, solid state 13C NMR spectroscopy, elemental, thermal (TGA) and particle size analyses. The presented networks were used as fascinating tools for the effective removal of azo dye molecules from aqueous solution.
