(NH4)2SO4-assisted polycondensation of dicyandiamide for porous g-C3N4 with enhanced photocatalytic NO removal†
Abstract
Polymeric graphitic carbon nitride (g-C3N4) materials have attracted great interest due to their potential application in photocatalysis and optoelectronic devices. However, bulk g-C3N4 prepared from direct polycondensation still suffers from a high charge recombination rate and low photocatalytic activity. Herein, a facile (NH4)2SO4-modified polycondensation strategy was developed for the synthesis of thin and porous g-C3N4. The (NH4)2SO4 behaved as a dynamic gas template, exerting a promotive effect on the formation of porous g-C3N4. The as-prepared porous g-C3N4 has significant advantages of large surface area, enhanced charge separation, and more suitable band gap, thus demonstrating improved photocatalytic performance for the removal of NO from air.
