Abstract

A methodology for the synthesis of (hetero)aromatic nitriles from aryl chlorides at room temperature has been developed. This methodology uses an air and moisture stable nickel(II) XantPhos precatalyst and Zn(CN)₂ as the cyanide (CN⁻) source.
