A semiconducting metal-chalcogenide–organic framework with square-planar tetra-coordinated sulfur

Abstract

We demonstrated here a novel semiconducting metal-chalcogenide–organic framework (MCOF-89) with an optical bandgap through the unlikely assembly between a metal chalcogenide unit and carboxylic acid. The elusive metal-chalcogenide unit [Mn44-S)] with square-planar tetra-coordinated sulfur (sptS) is for the first time observed in MOFs.
