Highly efficient, all-solution-processed, flexible white quantum dot light-emitting diodes†
Abstract
Flexible information displays hold great promise for future optoelectronic applications. The performance of white quantum dot light-emitting diodes (QLEDs) has been dramatically improved in the past few years. However, most of the reported white QLEDs are fabricated on glass substrates; less progress has been made in white QLEDs based on flexible substrates. Herein, we report the fabrication of an efficient flexible white QLED with mixed red, green and blue QDs as emitters by an all-solution process. The resulting flexible white QLED shows pure white light emission with Commission Internationale de l’Eclairage (CIE) coordinates of (0.34, 0.33) by controlling the Förster energy transfer process between the differently colored RGB QDs, and it also exhibits remarkable current efficiency of 10.5 cd A−1 and brightness of up to 3554 cd m−2.
