A multifunctional low-generation dendrimer-based nanoprobe for the targeted dual mode MR/CT imaging of orthotopic brain gliomas

Abstract

An RGD peptide-targeted low-generation dendrimer-based nanoprobe has been developed through the versatile dendrimer nanotechnology. The poly(amidoamine) dendrimers of generation 2 can be modified or loaded with Mn chelates, RGD peptide, and gold nanoparticles to have desired stability, cytocompatibility, cancer cell targeting specificity, and ability to cross the blood-brain barrier for targeted MR/CT imaging of an orthotopic brain glioma.
