Highly luminescent and ultrastable cesium lead halide perovskite nanocrystal glass for plant-growth lighting engineering†
Abstract
To find a fluorescent material suitable for plant growth as a device, CsPbX3 nanocrystal glasses were taken into consideration, which is very important in the field of plant lighting. Herein, a series of CsPbClxBr3−x (x = 0, 1, 1.5, 2, and 3) nanocrystal glasses with tunable emissions (420–523 nm) were successfully prepared by the melt-quenching and heat treatment route. The device was fabricated using a violet chip, CsPbCl2Br1 and CsPbBr1I2. Besides, a series of stability tests showed that the perovskite glass has good stability compared to a perovskite solution. Importantly, the electroluminescence spectra of the device were mainly in the blue light (460 nm) and the red light (620 nm), which corresponded to the wavelengths of light required for plant growth. Meanwhile, a plant lighting test showed that the device promoted plant growth. Therefore, the CsPbX3 NC glasses can be used as a new generation of solid fluorescent materials in the field of plant lighting engineering.
