Boosting efficient ambient nitrogen oxidation by a well-dispersed Pd on MXene electrocatalyst†
Abstract
An electrochemical nitrogen oxidation approach has been realized experimentally by a Pd-decorated MXene (Ti3C2Tx, T = F and O) electrocatalyst under ambient conditions. The Pd-MXene catalyst can achieve a desirable nitrate yield rate of 2.80 μg h−1 mgcat−1 (equivalent to 45.16 μmol h−1 gcat−1 HNO3) as well as a high nitrate faradaic efficiency of 11.34% in a favorable neutral pH environment.
