Oxidation states of gallium (infrequent i and common iii) tunable via medium-sized C60 and small-sized C28 fullerenes

Abstract

C60 was profoundly revealed as being an excellent container for stabilizing unusual Ga(I). Differently sized fullerenes performed as flexible tools for tuning the oxidation states of gallium. A fluoridation strategy was proposed for the further stabilization of Ga@Ih(1812)-C60. This will facilitate exploiting more features and applications involving rarely used Ga(I ).
