Synthesis, crystal structure, photocatalysis, photocurrent response: one-dimensional K2HgSnSe4 and three-dimensional Na6Cu8Sn3Se13†
Abstract
By using different solvent molecules as structure agents, two novel selenidostannates were solvothermally synthesized. In compound K2HgSnSe4 (1), tetrahedral Hg/SnSe4 are linked by edge-sharing to form one-dimensional (1D) anion chains [HgSnSe4]2−, and these chains are separated by K+ ions. Compound Na6Cu8Sn3Se13 (2) contains a copper-rich [Cu8Sn3Se13]6− framework that is charge-balanced by Na+ ions, and a 16-membered ring with an aperture of 9.62 × 9.62 Å2 is generated in the middle. The photodegradation activity of methylene blue (MB) was studied and 2 showed excellent photodegradation efficiency. Also, the optical properties, photocurrent response and band structures of 1 and 2 were investigated.
