Conjugated microporous polymers as an ideal platform for tunable emission via π-conjugation

Abstract

Highly conjugated microporous polymers (HCMPs) were prepared through Schiff base reaction. Interestingly, HCMPs have been constructed via π-conjugated building units in both vertex and linkers. The emission of HCMPs was tunable from green to red with moderate fluorescence quantum efficiency in the solid state, which was dominated via the π-conjugation effects in the vertex. The π-conjugation effects have been identified via the electronic structure calculations of HCMPs. This point suggested a new design of emissive materials.
