PBA-derived high-efficiency iron-based catalysts for CO2 hydrogenation†
Abstract
The efficient utilization of CO2 is currently a major concern, and the preparation of a catalyst with high CO2 conversion and product selectivity has become a matter of interest for researchers. Here, we report a series of transition metal-doped CO2 hydrogenation catalysts MFe2O4 (M = Zn, Cu, Ni, Co) with K residue prepared by using PBA as the precursor. The physicochemical properties of the catalysts were characterized by XRD, SEM, TEM, XPS, N2 adsorption and desorption, and H2-TPR, and the catalytic performance was tested. The test results showed that ZnFe2O4 had the highest CO2 conversion of 57.39% and the highest C5+ yield of 39.30% at 320 °C, 3 MPa, H2/CO2 = 3 : 1 and space velocity of 12 000 mL g−1 h−1. ZnFe2O4 showed no significant deactivation after 32 h of continuous operation, indicating its potential as an industrial catalyst.
