Deformable bi-compartmental particles and their application in controlling electric conductivity†
Abstract
Deformable PNIPAM/PTMPTA and PEDOT@PNIPAM/Fe3O4@PTMPTA bi-compartmental particles were fabricated continuously in a microfluidic device, which exhibit deformed shapes due to the swelling of PNIPAM. The tunable ratio of the two compartments manipulates the particles’ electric resistance. The PEDOT@PNIPAM/Fe3O4@PTMPTA functional particles undergo a synchronized rotation under a magnetic field, which further modulates their electrical conductivity.
