High-spin, tetrahedral cobalt(ii) and nickel(ii) complexes supported by monoprotic aminophosphine ligands, and attempted extension to copper(ii) complexes: synthesis, characterization, and unexpected reactivity

Abstract

We report the synthesis and characterization of four novel high-spin, tetrahedral complexes with bidentate ligands containing an aliphatic monoprotic aminophosphine, chelated to Ni(II) or Co(II). Additionally, we report crystal structures of decomposition products of these four complexes, as well as unexpected complexes produced when attempting to coordinate to Cu(II).
