Mechano-bactericidal interactions of nanoclay-bacteria for inhibiting inflammatory response to enhance wound healing

Abstract

Excellent inflammation suppression and wound healing using calcined kaolinite have been achieved. Mechano-bactericidal interactions between bacteria and nanoclay change the structure of the phospholipid bilayers of the cell membrane and in turn affect the biochemical functions of bacterial exosomes. The inflammation response was inhibited and wound healing was enhanced due to the mechano-bactericidal interactions.
