Unlocking the unrecognized flammability of deep eutectic solvents for green rocket fuels

Abstract

A new strategy for hybrid deep eutectic solvents (DESs) that are hypergolic with hydrogen peroxide is developed, in which the introduction of transition metal components can effectively release the latent and generally unrecognized flammability of common DESs. This strategy illustrates a uniquely modular platform to develop cost-effective and green propellants.
