Construction of 2-aminobenzothiazole (ABT)-g-C3N4/WO3 composites with enhanced visible-light photocatalytic activity and properties
Abstract
In this work, 2-aminobenthiol (ABT) small molecules were doped with g-C3N4/WO3via calcination to improve the visible light catalytic ability. Characterization methods such as SEM, TEM, and XPS were applied to explore the properties of the materials. A characterization study using UV diffuse reflection spectroscopy confirmed that the absorption capacity of 1 wt% ABT/CN in the visible region enhanced significantly after doping the 2-ABT molecule. TC (tetracycline) was used as the target pollutant to study the catalyst. The results showed that compared with g-C3N4, WO3, 1 wt% ABT-g-C3N4, and g-C3N4/WO3 materials, the 1 wt% ABT-CN/WO3 catalyst showed a more robust photocatalytic performance in the degradation of TC under visible light irradiation. The degradation rate of TC is 87.78% within 40 min. The composition of free radicals in the system and the role of ABT in the reaction process were analyzed, and the possible degradation mechanism was proposed.
