A thixotropic molecular hydrogel composite composed of polymer hydrogelator and self-doping polyaniline copolymer for electrochromic and glucose sensing applications†
Abstract
To create an electrochemically active material that can be coated and spread, a molecular composite hydrogel material was created by combining a polymer hydrogelator with self-doping polyaniline copolymer. Dynamic viscoelasticity measurements quantitatively showed that the mixed gel exhibited a gel state despite being in a low concentration range where a single polymer hydrogelator solution would not gel, and furthermore, the thixotropic properties of the gel were maintained. The composite was found to function as a thixotropic electrode material for electrochromic materials and glucose sensors in the gel state.
