Electron donor–acceptor complex enabled cascade reaction of unprotected o-anilide aryl chlorides for heterocycle synthesis

Abstract

An electron donor–acceptor (EDA) complex strategy that enabled photoactivation of unprotected o-anilide aryl chlorides has been reported. This EDA strategy provides a simple approach for the synthesis of several heterocycles. In this strategy, the toluene anion or tBuOK forms an EDA complex with aryl chlorides.
