Syntheses, crystal structures and photocurrent responses of Cs2Ag2Sb2S5 and CsAgSb4S7 with thiourea as a mineralizer

Abstract

Two layered compounds Cs2Ag2Sb2S5 (1) and CsAgSb4S7 (2) were successfully synthesized using a mild solvothermal method with thiourea as a mineralizer. The syntheses of these two silver-containing quaternary sulfides indicate that thiourea is a novel effective mineralizer. Both compounds are semiconductors and compound 1 exhibits excellent photocurrent response properties.
