Prolonging the n-type conduction of thermoelectric carbon nanotubes exposed to warm air by mixing hydrated water into the adsorbed dopant layers composed of Li+-receptor molecules†
Abstract
Mixing hydrated water into the dopant layer prolongs the operational stability of n-type carbon nanotubes (CNTs). Supramolecular interactions with Li+ increase the water adsorption of the dopant layer, hinder atmospheric oxygen from entering the CNT structure, and extend the n-type lifetime at 373 K from 6 to 16 d.
