Construction of a terbium-based metal–organic framework for specific detection of MnO4− in aqueous media†
Abstract
Here, a new terbium-based metal–organic framework [Tb(qptca)1/2(H2qptca)1/2(H2O)2]n {H4qptca: [1,1′:4′,1′′:4′′,1′′′:4′′′,1′′′′-quinquephenyl]-2,2′′,2′′′′,5′′-tetracarboxylic acid} (referred to as SLX-3) was successfully achieved and was fully characterized by standard methods such as X-ray single crystal diffraction and powder X-ray diffraction. Preliminary results showed that it has excellent aqueous solution and thermal stability, and can accurately and efficiently detect MnO4− in water through a fluorescence quenching effect with excellent anti-interference and good recyclability. Moreover, the fluorescence quenching caused by the energy competition between SLX-3 and the analyte was explained by UV-Vis absorption spectroscopy and TEM-EDS spectroscopy.
