Direct synthesis of π-conjugated polymers with bromoaryl groups in side chains via a chemoselective intramolecular catalyst transfer system†
Abstract
Poly(thienylene phenylene) with bromoaryl groups on its side chains (P1) was directly synthesized without protection via the Migita–Kosugi–Stille coupling polycondensation. ortho-Substituted electron-withdrawing imide-carbonyl groups play an important role in the chemoselective intramolecular catalyst transfer system. In addition, the post-modification reaction of P1 successfully produced thienyl-side-chain-functionalized P1.
