Non-covalent PEGylation of proteins mediated by site-specific in situ polymerization induced co-assembly†
Abstract
Herein we present a method tailored for non-covalent PEGylation of proteins, which is achieved by site-specific in situ polymerization induced co-assembly (SI-PICA) of proteins and polyethylene glycol (PEG). Significantly, this approach aptly preserves the bioactivity of therapeutic proteins while concurrently enhancing their pharmacokinetic properties.
