A 9R-like 2D hybrid metal halide with remarkably low melting temperature

Abstract

N-Methyl-2-hydroxy-1-ethanaminium lead iodide exhibits a low melting temperature (Tm = 99 °C) among 2D hybrid metal halides (HMHs). This discovery expands the low melting characteristics of 2D HMHs to include a stepped 9R-like structure, suggesting significant potential for melt-processing and hybrid glass formation.
