Winthrop Professor Colin Raston FRACI CChem FRSC is an ARC Australian Professional Fellow at The University of Western Australia, being appointed to the university in 2003. He completed a PhD under the guidance of Professor Allan White, and after postdoctoral studies with Professor Michael Lappert at the University of Sussex, he was appointed a lecturer at The University of Western Australia (1981) then to Chairs of Chemistry at Griffith University (1988), Monash University (1995) and the University of Leeds (2001). He is recipient of the Burrows Award, Green Chemistry Challenge Award, H. G. Smith Award, and the Leighton Memorial Award from the Royal Australian Chemical Institute (RACI), and is a former president of the RACI. His current research covers aspects of process intensification, nanotechnology and self-assembly, and green chemistry.
