Our mission at NPR is to publish high quality and thought-provoking reviews which cover the most interesting research from key areas across natural products research. 2011 has been another great year for NPR in this respect and we would like to thank our authors, readers, referees and Editorial Board members for helping us to continue to take the journal forward.
The end of 2011 saw the retirement of two long-serving Editorial Board members. Professor Russell Cox steps down after six years in the role and we would like to wish him well in his new role as an Associate Editor for the new RSC Publishing journal RSC Advances. Professor Daisuke Uemura also steps down after six years with the Board. We would like to thank them both for their time with the journal.
The 2011 NPR Lectureship was awarded to Professor Christian Hertweck from the Leibniz Institute for Natural Product Research in Jena, Germany. Professor Hertweck gave his lecture in July at the 52nd annual meeting of the American Society of Pharmacognosy in San Diego, US, and the award was presented to him by NPR Board Chair Brad Moore.
