The continuation of Journal of Materials Chemistry in these three new journals is a result of the successes the journal has experienced over the last 21 years.
As the materials discipline continues to grow and diversify, we aim to evolve Journal of Materials Chemistry into a more flexible and dynamic family of journals. The three new journals will all publish high impact research with a more interdisciplinary nature, together providing comprehensive coverage of the expanding materials field. Smaller issues will offer greater visibility for our authors' work while retaining the high quality and impact associated with the Journal of Materials Chemistry family.
The focus of the three new journals varies according to the intended application of the materials studied. Covering topical areas from energy to biology to electronics and everything in between, the Journal of Materials Chemistry family will continue to showcase leading research in the materials field. The scopes of each will cover studies which demonstrate an improvement in the properties or applications of the material or an advance in the preparation of the material. The family of journals will encompass a broader scientific range with the inclusion of more interdisciplinary science than their parent journal.
Journal of Materials Chemistry A will focus on materials for energy and sustainability, including materials for energy storage and conversion, for conservation of scarce natural resources and for sustainability and green processes.
Journal of Materials Chemistry B will cover materials for biology and medicine. This includes materials for healthcare and materials at the biointerface.
Journal of Materials Chemistry C will focus on materials for optical and electronic devices. High impact research into display technologies, optical materials, advanced electronics and materials for information storage will also be covered.
We would like to thank everyone who has supported Journal of Materials Chemistry over the past two decades and we look forward to working with you in the years to come!
