Silver decorated multi-walled carbon nanotubes as a heterogeneous catalyst in the sonication of 2-aryl-2,3-dihydroquinazolin-4(1H)-ones

Abstract

In the present study, an attempt has been made to synthesize 2-aryl-2,3-dihydroquinazolin-4(1H)-ones from sonication of anthranilamide and an aldehyde as precursors in the presence of Ag–CNTs as a novel catalyst. This work consistently has the advantages of excellent yields, short reaction times, and simple experimental and work-up procedures. The heterogeneous catalyst could be recovered and recycled several times without any loss of its activity.
