Cation-induced conformational and self-assembly transitions in designer peptides

Abstract

Designer cystine-cored triazole-containing peptides self-assembled into spherical vesicles. These peptides resembling a Zn-finger ligand showed a conformational transition to a β-sheet secondary structure upon Cu2+ binding, resulting in the disruption of self-assembled vesicles.
