From spent alkaline batteries to active Zn||ZnxMn2O4 aqueous batteries: a mild process of cathode recycling and crystal engineering

Abstract

ZnxMn2O4/carbon was recycled from spent alkaline batteries under mild conditions, then applied as a cathode material in aqueous zinc batteries, which can achieve an excellent specific capacity of 292 mA h gāˆ’1 over 200 cycles at a current density of 150 mA gāˆ’1.
